Recently, "National Research Center of Coastal Africa" established by Zhejiang Ocean University, was successfully approved by Chinese Ministry of Education, and issued in the record list of 2017 country and regional research centers.
The research center will be guided by Chinese Ministry of Education, and provided with subject support to carry out basic research and advisory service. In addition, the education administrative department of Zhejiang province will set up special funds and entrust research projects to support it.
The research center looks at 9 coastal African countries, i.e. Senegal, Mauritania, Namibia, Angola, South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Mozambique and Madagascar, aiming on The Belt and Road Initiative of China, and actively promoting education for African students, the academic exchanges between China and Africa, as well as enhancing the influence on those coastal countries in Africa and the internationalization of Zhejiang Ocean University.
